Socialist Economic Planning Seems To Accelerate To The Cliff and Pretend It's Not There

Sometimes I wonder how the socialist utopia builders get away with such nonsense, that is to say convince the people of some grand vision which can't possibly exist using their methodologies and theories, not to mention the ancillary motives behind the cause. Nevertheless, they do, and more often than not they do get buy-in from the masses hoping for a positive change for the future.

The problem is their foundation is built on a theory which has never worked in human history. Indeed, that is an impossible obstacle to overcome. Nevertheless this group progresses forward and they have hijacked many nations throughout the annals of history. Okay so let's talk shall we?

Might I suggest that; here we go again. This time in the United States, a country I never thought it could possibly happen. Sure, we see the effects of socialism in countries like Argentina, Venezuela, Italy, Spain, Greece, Portugal, and other nations around the world. But how can the United States which stands for the individual ever agree to dismiss individual freedom, liberty, and the pursuit of one's own happiness for some song and dance of hope and change?

There was a very apropos Op-Ed in the Wall Street Journal on November 23, 2012 titled; "Illinois the Unfixable" which stated "Illinois pension system is heading for a meltdown and may now be beyond help. That's the forecast from a Chicago business group, which told its members that the state's pension crisis 'has grown so severe' that it is unfixable."

Now then, Illinois is hardly alone in this problem with its $95 billion dollars in unfunded pension contributions. What's unfortunate is that when they had a chance to do something about it, they didn't, nor does any politician wish to take the political hit for telling the unions no, and so there you have it another Greek Tragedy coming to a downtown theater near you.

What I can't understand is that it didn't work in Illinois and it isn't working still, so then; why did we allow politicians from there to jump into the White House and tell us that they can do it better. They haven't, they can't, and it's obvious that they are spending us into oblivion as they run us off the cliff of bankruptcy. It's as if they pretend it doesn't even exist, that there is no cliff, and that everyone and everything will be fine if we just let them continue. There is a very interesting book I think you should read;

"The Worldly Philosophers," by Robert L Heilbroner, first published in 1953.

This book is an economic philosophy book. And there is indeed an entire chapter on "the Beautiful World of the Utopian Socialists," where the author conveniently puts these delusional socioeconomic theories in their place. Perhaps we all should. Still, it's important for you to make up your own mind, and therefore I hope you will please consider all this and think on it.

If Americans Were Ever to Vote Into Office a Truly Socialist President Would They Deserve the USA?

The most recent 100-years of history have shown how troubling a truly socialist regime can be on a nation's economy and population. We've seen Mussolini and Hitler which go well beyond anything we'd wish to be discussing here today. Still, even the lesser reigned-in socialists can devastate a country for instance Argentina and their many economic collapses, or Greece for instance. Right now, we see the culmination of many years of socialist parties in Europe, it isn't pretty.

What if a socialist-party was in charge of the US? Even if they didn't call themselves socialist, what if they merely hijacked the Republican or Democrat Party as their lead in to office? If all the members of that party controlled the US Congress, and eventually had appointed Supreme Court Justices with like minds, you could see how problematic it would be if a socialist-president were elected. Could we too go the way of Europe's PIIGS (Portugal, Ireland, Italy, Greece, and Spain)? Well sure, that could easily happen. In fact, we haven't done so well with our own finances even without being a truly-socialist country.

Now then, when I say "truly socialist" president please understand I am not talking about Hilary Clinton or Barack Obama or anyone else for that matter. Thus, this article should not be meant to include quasi-socialists either. Sure, some might say there is a fine line, but I'd say we all understand the difference, plus if particular politicians in the hierarchy of leadership are more of a quasi-communist, this article would not apply to them either, so please do not condemn, as this is not an attack ad, even if I am approving this overall message.

We just recently watched Hugo Chavez get reelected after turning the country into the proverbial socialist economic nightmare in Venezuela; two major currency devaluations, nationalizing of corporate assets, and even buying votes. The inflation rate has made it very tough on that nation. Speaking of buying votes Hugo Chavez has given cellphones to the population who could not afford them, free refrigerators, TVs (to watch the now state controlled media dishing out political propaganda), free-food, and other items.

You should not be too surprised in many regards we see similar things happening in the US, the buying of votes that is with the Food Stamp Program here at home. Perhaps, what concerns me is that as we head down a similar road, how long until we actually do get a truly socialist president of the United States, one which is surrounded by like-minded people, and once we do, then what. Will we lose it all just like those other nations in past periods, or perhaps very soon present periods? Think on this and vote with your mind this time.

Mitt Romney Can't Catch a Break From the Liberal Socialist Op-Ed Writers of the NYTs

It is interesting how attacking the liberal socialist media gets during election season, it's as if they think this is their time to shine, their time to prove self-worth, and validate themselves to their left-leaning readership audience. It's just too darn bad with all that word-smithing style and grace, and tricky little sentences that they actually reveal to those in the know exactly how little they understand. Okay so, let's talk shall we?

The New York Times had an interesting Op-Ed on September 20, 2012 titled; "It Takes One to Know One," by Nicholas D. Kristof which was in response to Mitt Romney's comment about how 47% of those on the government dole who voted for Obama were not going to switch political sides and vote for him in the 2012 elections as long as they think President Obama will keep that money flowing to them. Mitt was right. Mr. Kristof stated however in his Op-Ed piece;

"As I watched a video of Mitt Romney scolding moochers suffering from a culture of dependency, I thought of American soldiers I've met in Afghanistan and Iraq. They don't pay federal income tax while they're in combat zones, and they rely on government benefits when they come back."

Well, that's all well and good that it "reminded" him of soldiers, but that has nothing to do with what Mitt Romney was talking about, so whereas, Kristof may have an abundance of imagination and massive amounts of white matter connecting his brain to various experiences and thoughts, he has completely voided his argument by that first sentence, and led the reader astray.

More so, because President Obama was supposed to bring all those soldiers back as soon as he took office, that's what he promised, one could actually make a similar charge with the Commander in Chief and actually me more correct. I hope the American People and the Obama Voters in 2008 remember that - or has the economic stress of American citizens blocked their short term memory - that happens and we know that to be a neurological fact.

Still, why is it that the Op-Ed writers in the New York Times take a topic and twist and contort it into something it isn't? Well, it's because they feel it there job to trash any Republican candidate at the earliest possible convenience, hoping that they can change what happened into some sort of "gotcha" politics of perceived and created reality.

Indeed, there has been one after another hit pieces, op-eds, in the New York Times over this issue, and not one is able to discuss the issue without taking what Mitt Romney said out of context and merging their version of what they wish he had said so they could attack him into their own little mismatched court of public opinion misdirection hit pieces. That's why.
